Swing Re-buid - Glad you Done it or Wish You Never Started

I am slowly going through a bit of a swing re-build at the moment but I am going very slowly. Like many others, not had many lessons previously and when I saw a video of my swing it was ugly. So far I have changed my grip, changed my alignment and feet positions and am working on keeping my weight central as well as a few other things. More changes due this week/next week. So far though there has been not much to take on board each week and so my game is holding up pretty well or even improving after each lesson. Really happy with the way I am being taught and I think I started at just the right time. My game had stagnated and there were so many inconsistencies that something needed to be done. When everything worked I was capable of having a brilliant round but having seen my swing it is no surprise that it did not happen very often.

totally worthwhile. had completely ground to a halt with my previous pro. first lesson with the new guy and he reset everything from the grip onwards. now a completely different golfer, though it took a little longer than i would have hoped, and still have big purple patches and then some weeks when i struggle...

I'd be interested to hear other peoples views on this.

For anyone that has gone through a major swing rebuild.

When you got you game stable again, do you think it was worth all the effort and pain ?

The reason I ask is I'm finally starting to get some consistency in my game again and only now after about 18 months starting to shoot the scores I was before the rebuild started.

I can see that I'm now going to be a much better player than I was.

BUT, it completely ruined my enjoyment of the games for 18 months and I'm not convinced it was worth it.

My opinion will probably change in maybe 6-12 months if my scores start to tumble down.

Don't get me wrong I'm actually the happiest I've been about my game in ages and really looking forward to seeing what I can achieve, but I came so close to quitting on more than one occasion that it could have gone either way.
18 months?,blimey i'm not looking forward to the next 15 then,i'm shocking at the moment!!
