I've been struggling with my woods for a while now and seemed to have completely lost my way with how to get back on track, so having seen this advertised at the range I thought I would give it a go.

What a revelation! Talk about Real vs Feel.

After watching me hit a few balls to loosen up while the pro was chatting to me about my game, my percieved problems etc, his first comment was "crazy fast!".....and I was trying to swing smooth and easy :o he also identified a flaw in my set-up posture which was leaving me stuck on the back foot and (as Bob has already identified on here) a very flat backswing.

Starting to lose the light we went into the bay and got to work with all the technology, me swinging in what I now thought was super slo-mo registered as 102 mph :o

We had an interesting chat about Stack & Tilt, and while he doesn't teach it himself, he was certainly for a lot of the theory about how the weight stays over the front foot throughout.

Came away with a few key points to focus on and 3 or 4 drills to encourage a better takeaway and swingpath. There was a huge improvement during the lesson and the before and after swing vids and drills etc are emailed to you (mine seems to be lost somewhere in cyberspace though )

I can't wait to get back to the range and set to work - sad or what?!?!? :p

Not at all. I am with you all the way and usually find my enthusiasm invigorated after a lesson and for the two or three rounds after where I remember everything I was shown and play somewhere near my potential before reverting to my normal mediocrity.

Yep, nothing sad about it, its what I live for. I was at the range tonight and did not want to leave.

Must admit i hate practising, and just like to play. I never hit the ball well at a driving range, and when hitting the driver i feel like i am trying to swing in a telephone box. Fortunately i hit the ball slightly better on the course ;)

I find that I can go to the practice ground and within a few minutes I'm hitting the ball better than I ever have and wonder why I'm there and what I can do to improve - then I go out on the course and it vanishes as quickly as it came :)
