Surrey golf tour major # 1 roll call.

I'd love to get involved in tours like this, but they just cant interest me unless they are CONGU affiliated and have a bearing on handicap too. Ultimately that the best prize you can have, a low handicap

Hi MendieGK, sorry that the tour can't interest you unless it is CONGU... not quite sure why this is the case? The tours we run are giving the chance to every day golfers to play different courses in a competitive enviroment and compete for top class prizes... golf course membership is on the decrease and hence the availability of CONGU events - of course you will always have the usual club comps/opens to play in and you will decrease your handicap (if that is your goal) but what do you win? A trophy? £20 pro shop vouchers?... We appreciate that the tours we run are not for everyone and always welcome comments, but being a CONGU event, I just don't get... would be great if you came along to an event to see if we can change your mind!

Best,

Ben

That live scoring sounds good. Can you see the leaderboard while you're playing, or just when you've finished?

When you enter, can you ask to be paired with the other GM'ers or is it random?
Can you request a general tee time?

I'm getting more tempted by the minute, but I'd prefer to play as late as possible.

Hi... I guess we have just spoke on our interactive chat service! Entry all received...

With regard to live scoring, it works as follows:
Each grouping is given one of our scoring units and they input the scores as they finish each hole.. this will then update a live leaderboard on each of the other groups units also - so you will know where you are in the field at any given time! Really adds to the excitement of the day and I know you guys will love it!

Sounds great. Why we will want to heap more pressure on ourselves by knowing where we stand I have no idea, but we will!

See you Friday :)

Will be at both, selsdon is about 1 mile from my house, Surrey national about 5 miles as the crow flies

I actually really like selsdon park, every hole is unique

Really gald you have written this as I am booking myself and some mates in for a couple of rounds at Selsden Park and I have heard mixed reviews. Couple of my mates have said it is a great pay and play track, others have said the grounds are amazing but the course doesn't live up!
I hope they are wrong!

wow, gotta feel for the rest of the field looking at this 3 ball :)

Especially as I just shot a nett 65 (42 points) around Staverton Park this afternoon, destroying the awesomeness and Rob with my Mizzies ;)

As I was teeing up on the 18th, I was 3 over gross on the back 9

I saw mate, wp :) Play off the yellows? (If off the whites then vvvwp as its much tougher)

Am highly jealous not being able to play currently, will have to get another hit sorted when im back again, put you up against some more awesomeness ;)

To be fair, the yellows were quite well set back and only a couple of holes the whites were a good 20 yards or more back, I was just so solid off the tee that I was hitting regulation greens like never before or if short I was chipping well with my new MP-T4 wedges, my putter was red hot and if not for a small handful of 3 puts it could have been an even better score!

Great confidence boost which I really needed after a few below par rounds of late.

How's that gonna sit off 3/4 robin, that's 17 right?

Yes, I was 6 under and there were some thrown away also, especially early doors, so, a decent warm up and a similar performance could see a nice score, hopefully ;)

You'll be fine, just don't lose your ball on the 1st like last time

With Gary on board, we could all go off like the Red Arrows, but who will have centre ground and who will be the wing men :mmm:
