I normally buy my 333's from Direct Golf or fleabay, but went out yesterday and stocked up on a box at the club. A 12 pack was £5 more expensive than DG..

I know they will find it difficult to compete with online and superstores but things are so much more expensive!

Where does everyone get there odds and sods? Do you support the club by buying there?

I've just ordered some new irons through my pro. He pricematched the cheapest internet price and also gave me what golfbidder were offering me for my old irons as trade in.

I wouldn't shop anywhere else now :)

Our shop doesnt even bother competing, they stock the odd sleeve of 3 balls etc but there is so little stock I have to go elsewhere, tend to try and buy in bulk when decent deals come about online (still frustrated i only bought 2 dozen z stars when they were £38 for 2 dozen recently). Have also just bought a load of pearl grade from ebay, not delivered yet lets see whether they are of decent enough quality.

Only thing i tend to buy is a pencil every comp, i must put them all some place and have a nice collection starting now.

I'll often buy clothing in our pro-shop and I've considered buying a demo hybrid obce or twice for cheap.

However, they price the balls and gloves for visitors and we get no discount. A sleeve of Pro V1's is something like £12.99 for 3!!!

I buy everything I can from our pro shop. He will price match if I find something on the net at a better price. I like the service and the fact the if something goes wrong it will be sorted out and I will be looked after.

When my electric broke and went away for repair, I was due to play at another course and the pro sent a club electric trolley over for me to use without me asking at all.

That is service.

Bought my current irons and wedges from our pro. Not bought owt else as I can get other kit cheaper. The course and club are separate so the club doesn't benefit anyway.

Yea, I'll buy various clothing items from our pro shop, but balls and stuff I'd get from t'interweb. They mainly stock Srixon, which is great, but they're so much more expensive than they are on the internet.

Barely anything gets bought from our shop. It's small, not particularly well stocked and expensive. I only buy the odd bit if I need a new glove or suddenly I've got no tees....

Practically everything from ours including tshirts and shoes. A lot of the guys at our place know that if you don't use it you lose it and the guys in the shop are top blokes.

Our club shop wouldn't be well stocked either but I would still and try to give any bussiness I could as the guy who runs the shop is very approachable and even gave me a discount when I got my driver regripped

I've known my pro for years including socially and so he does get me some good deals especially on my myjoy shoes. He doesn't have a huge range but will usually order stuff in and trys to be competitive where he can. He's part of the Foremost buying group so can normally get a deal for me so I do try and use him where I can. Clothing is probably the only thing I don't get there as he doesn't do my preferred make of shirt (adidas)

I've been a member at two golf clubs. The first, the pro was a known salesman who'd sell you any old bit of rubbish. The members all knew this so, to a man, we all bought elsewhere.
The club I'm at presently has very nice pros in the shop so I'd do all I can to buy from them. In fact, they've introduced a 'rental' scheme for their drivers/woods. As a member, I pay £3 and I can rent any driver/wood for a round. An excellent idea and they seem to be doing great business off the back of it.

I am all for the principle of supporting the club shop but the long and the short of it is that I cannot afford to at the moment. The range is fine if you like the brands that are stocked but it is all at RRP and there are no discounts, trade ins etc. Basically it is all cash and you pay top whack. Now if you can afford to pay an extra £5 for a dozen balls, an extra £10 on your clothes or shoes or £30 or more extra on a club then good on you, support your pro shop but the simple fact is that in the current climate I need that money in my pocket so I spend online or at DG or AG.
