stupid purchase on ebay

I've just dropped a huge clanger. I was browsing ebay mobile on my way home and saw what I though was a Yonex Nanospeed I driver going cheap and bid on it with seconds left and won

It was for the head and headcover only and I'm gutted. Whats more I paid instantly using paypal. I've emailed the seller explaining the problem and I'm hoping he is understanding but what are my options?

Can I have a shaft fitted? does it have to be a yonex shaft? is there a resale market for head only

Yeah just take it to your pro and they will fit you a shaft no problem, doesnt have to be Yonex either

I'm weary as I've always got on well with the Yonex Nanospeed shafts (hence my current driver/3wood & hybrid) and for the sake of keeping the cost down would just want a cheapy

Yep take a shaft along and they will fit it for you. Souldn't be more than a tenner I wouldnt have thought.

Im trying to get shaft put in, cant get it under £20

Buy the shaft you want yourself and take it to a clubmaker and get it fitted,I was charged £15 to have one fitted and it was a great job :thup: .

When you get the head check to ensure that the hosel hasn't been damaged when the shaft was removed.


Find out the tip diameter of the head, buy some slow set epoxy, find a suitable ferrule and grip and then buy a shaft off ebay or Amazon.

The epoxy will cost £5 , (get 24 hour not a fast set type), the ferule will cost £2-£5, the grip £5 and tape £2. You can get a decent shaft for around £35, however if you can find a pulled shaft with a grip fitted this may save you money.

If you aren't confident go to a pro and he will charge around £20 to fit the shaft and £8 for a grip

if he doesn't respond open a dispute on paypal because you want to cancel, you'll get your money back no doubt

thanks Dave, I'm on the case for a shaft just in case.

I've sent a message to the seller explaining my mistake and he has replyied saying he is going to offer a second chance to the other bidder. If this fails I'll have to take the item.

Lesson learned, never buy anything you notice with only seconds to spare and no time to read the fine print

i bought an itemfrom overseas once by mistake on ebay, i gave the seller some guff about this and he believed me and i got the refund. If only he knew

just a thought, but how does the hosel get damaged, and how likely is it to happen? I'm going to ask the seller how the driver come to be without a head and am anxious about the response.

Could this happen during a round or would this happen during a re-shaft/shaft pull

If you're after a Nanospeed 3i Driver, I have one that I can send pics of - dunno what its worth don't use it anymore so just taking up space in my back room.
