Currently in a predicament where i am topping the ball with my hybrids up to my driver. My PGA pro has told me with the woods to put them slightly further forward in my stance and with the driver but the weight on the back foot to hit the ball on the up swing.

However having read GM over the years doesn't a top come off the bottom of the club and wouldn't an extreme upswing with the driver cause that? i no there are over causes but i can stop my body from rising if thats the cause instead of the upswing.

Thanks in advance

When a golfer tops the ball, the swing is normally out to in, steep and above plane.
The club hits the top of the ball driving it into the ground then off bouncing down the fairway.
A thin on the other hand is when the club hits the ball on the way up and hits it on the equator of the ball, sending the ball shooting along the fairway about 6 feet off the ground.
Which is your shape?

Mine is definitely into the ground on the first bounce as i can hear it. on a bad day i thin my irons but i think this is a different problem with the ball just going straight into the ground and barely making it 30 yards forward.

Thanks for the fast response

Hybrids should be played the same as a mid-iron, with the ball in the middle of the stance. Do not confuse a hybrid with a wood, just because they are similar in shape.
