Street style golf shoes

just like a driver from the 1900's is the same as driver 2013 and a golf ball from the 1900's is the same as a golf ball for 2013. Always has been always will be NOT. Get with the times pal the world is changing like it or not. Did you study history in school im guessing not.

 am with Greig on this one, they look tacky and no place for them on the golf course. Next thing is folk will want to wear jeans with them.

What a load of tosh!! You need to drag yourself out of you're cave and realise its not 1955 anymore..... A lot of the top pros are wearing them nowadays (including the current US Open Champion) and have done so for a while which says a lot... most golf shoes are trainer looking like in appearance any how. Look at the Adidas and Nike selections all look like trainers or lightweight running shoes. Rarely do you see Brogue styles nowadays and even those are of a modern design although I do like the Ecco versions :) The street versions are arguably smarter than some of these! Personally Ive got 2 pairs, Adidas smaba style ones and a new pair of ECO street/hybrids which are the most comfortable shes I've ever had.

As for wearing them in the club house...mmmm Im with the chap who said if it brings in weed-killer and virus etc then thats a v good point and theres no argument there..If its about no studs in the club house then that's a good point as well and should be followed (mine are rubber soles??) if its about no golf shoes in the club house then again that's a good point as this is what they are!! Its not a rule thats going to stop youngsters playing the game however as we can see in the thread!!!. :) I cant see it being a major problem for people to follow surely?

In my view, the new trainer style golf shoes are awful and not the right attire for golf courses. I have played with people who wore them and just took the mickey as they looked quite daft. "But they're so comfy" was the defensive cry!? That might be true, but they also make you look like Stevie Wonder is your personal shopper.

A pair of smart trousers combined with trainers? Sartorial stupidity. Combine it with a worn out cagoule and a can of Diamond White and you would get a few quid in your upturned baseball cap if you sat on the street.

Trainers and trousers do not mix. But if you want to look like a mentally challenged wino tramp, be my guest. Plenty of clubs where you fit right in. Go there and stop moaning.

Bloke looking incredibly smart because he has proper shoes on:

Believe me 'snelly' My golfing attire looks a lot smarter than some I have seen with 'so called' correct golfing uniform.

You and your ilk are all what is wrong with the game and the sooner the dinasours die off the better.
I didnt realise there was so many golfing snobs still around.

Suffice to say this particular 'mentally challanged wino tramp' will never play in the same company as you... Thank God.

Well that's your opinion and you are entitled to it.

However to take the mickey out of people and mock a someone who was blind at birth are far more to be worried about than the style of someone's golf shoes.
