Was talking about this the other day.
2 driver shafts, both 63g one stiff and one extra stiff.
What's the difference? Is it how the weight is distributed through the shaft?

63 isn't that heavy for a stiff driver shaft...

Once upon a time weight and stiffness were very closely related in graphite shafts, but that link has been pretty firmly broken nowadays such that they can deliver degrees of stiffness, torque and much more specific flex point profiles within similar weighted shafts as they wish, through the fibres, weaves, epoxy etc

Shaft technology is now much more sophisticated than it was 20+ years ago.

Different types/strengths of graphite, or other materials can be used in different areas in the shaft to tweak the feel of a shaft whose 'flex' is simply measures by how it oscillates in a 5" clamp! So a shaft using exactly the same materials (so same overall weight), but at different areas (Butt, Mid, or Tip sections) will both feel and oscillate differently.
