Tweeted this morning that he hope no drink was spilled following the tragic helicopter crash in a 'comical' attempt at continuing that age old Scottish stereotype.

I hope all his jobbies from now on are hedgehogs.

Disgusting horrible individual.

There is a time and a place for humour and this is not it.
Apologies. Perhaps a bit tasteless of me.

But having been involved in a couple of near-death incidents and watched 3 loved ones succumb to Cancer, I probably have a slightly 'different' approach to some fates!

Accepted.

Cannot imagine what went on last night. Sitting having a jar and enjoying yourself with pals then.....awful.

The response from the public was astonishing. Running towards the disaster instead of running away.
The interview with the off duty fireman who ran in to help. He lay on top of an injured guy to protect him from people [who could not see him] walking over him shows just how amazingly brave some folk can be.

Re Elkington..there is always a 'bloksey' idiot saying this kind of crass comment.

I have just seen a tweet from S Elkington making a joke out of the helicopter crash. What an utter moron. Being polite is causing me great pain.

Re: Steve Elkington

the man is a clueless buffoon who needs a good diggin.
re the folks in Glasgow, wow, the community spirit and strength of everyone to try to help as many people as possible is fantastic.
god bless those involved.

Re: Steve Elkington

I can never understand people making jokes about matters such as this , my wife is from the Philippines and I have been told there have been jokes going round about what has happened over there , my friends have told me they have not send me any out of respect to which I said I did not even know they were doing the rounds ..................what can you say , like I said else where , notink nice to say say notink ...........EYG

Re: Steve Elkington

Look Steve Elks an Aussie the rudest most untactile nation on the planet, enough said.........

I agree , I have played cricket to a good standard before I took up golf , used to get a lot of staring eye ball to eye ball stuff , glares and a few choice words , but the aussie capt Clarke saying to Anderson , be prepared for a ( swear word ) broken arm , he ran up to him to say it too , out of order , play hard by all means but not like that , I am glad in golf we don't get that yet ......................EYG

Re: Steve Elkington

His excuse was that the report he heard was "a helicopter just flopped down on a pub"

I follow him on twitter and after a few sherbets last night told him what I thought of him and he blocked me, no loss to me.

Re: Steve Elkington

All accidents have jokes made about them, some in a day others in a week.

I would expect no less if it happened to someone in London, I'm sure there would be some stereotyping in those jokes too.

Thoughts go out to the families that have lost someone close to them (of course) but other than that I expect EVERY EVENT to be fair game at some time or another. Incidents that will be forgotten the soonest usually have jokes appear the quickest so as not to waste the 'opportunity'. Nothing unusual here.

As for Elkington, well you only need to watch a few of his vids to realise that he's not batting with a full deck of shillings :mmm:

Re: Steve Elkington

He is a bit of a twitter disaster, he has a habit of making a bit of a ring piece of himself on there.

Was pretty my word for word what I was thinking.

Re: Steve Elkington

There was also this incident with Monty Panesar http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...nouncer-sacked-racial-slur-Monty-Panesar.html
I think the trouble with them is they are stuck at the other side of the world and basically ignored, not taken seriously by other nations as they have never been a force in anything useful ie trade, finance, manufacturing and have to make that extra effort to be noticed.I should think England will go on to win the Ashes series.
