Re: Steve Elkington

Now are you sure your not an Aussie with a response like that?

You've just demonstrated one of the more detestable attributes of Brits I have encountered. The inability to admit when they are wrong!

Obfuscation seems to be the main response, rather than 'Oops sorry'!

The French appear to have slightly more style about the way they don't admit errors - though their meetings are much more fun!

Easily rectified. Terminal 5 should sort it. Bye

Re: Steve Elkington

Elkington has been an accident waiting to happen on Twitter for a while now. I think his humour at this time on such a delicate subject (and others who do it at other natural and man made disasters worldwide) is crass, irresponsible and reprehensible.

All the Aussies I have met have been very nice people - competitive at sport but top people after the game

But not sure how anyone could state that "most" Aussies are "insert word here"

Re: Steve Elkington

A classic Ludditic response - anywhere!

Lud·dite (ldt)
n.
1. Any of a group of British workers who between 1811 and 1816 rioted and destroyed laborsaving textile machinery in the belief that such machinery would diminish employment.
2. One who opposes technical or technological change.
[After Ned Ludd, an English laborer who was supposed to have destroyed weaving machinery around 1779.]
Luddism n.

Re: Steve Elkington

Let's play nice guys - it's getting a bit personal.

It's not nice to generalise whole nations of people.

Re: Steve Elkington

Look Steve Elks an Aussie the rudest most untactile nation on the planet, enough said.........

As far as I know this forum wasn't restricted to just Brits? I'm Australian and have been living here in the England very happily for the last 15 years. Why? because the country is full of fantastic accepting people, but clearly your not one of them.

As for Elkington, he was a great golfer...... unfortunately he is a first class idiot.

Ok. As it seems you didn't understand the earlier post.....

Time to answer a few simple questions then

Have you been there at all?

If so, was it for more than just a visit/holiday?

Have you actually met the 'Most Aussies' that you specify in your post - that's about 12 million or more of them!

You never know. It might only be the ones that encounter you that end up being rude too.:whistle:

Well said

Re: Steve Elkington

This is nonsense. Does no one else see the irony?

Complaining about a judgemental, myopic, stereotypical joke by displaying the same traits:confused:
