Stay? Go? I Have No Idea

Because none of the comps are drawn either. Everyone turns up at the same time in their same 3 balls and off they go.

having roll ups wouldnt be a factor for me. if the club has comps then you get a game and meet others. any game i play outwith comps is practise for the comps, so i wouldnt want to be distracted by others etc. i can phone at least ten of our members(infact more like 50, which is all of us) to join up if i felt lonely. i play on a muni at the moment but any future club its the course im interested in (quality of turf) not roll ups. imo

If the comps aren't drawn, couldn't you do a roll up as well? We do at ours for the "non-start-sheet comps". You enter the comp, and the swindle is a side bet. If no comp, then the swindle still takes place.

GB72... I would leave.. in fact I AM leaving my club which sounds just like yours. The prospect you have of being nearer and having 27 holes sounds great to me, even more if the atmosphere in your current club is crap. Playing after work is also a great temptation.. even if you just find a loop of 6 holes it can really help your game. A chance to meet new people.... I'd go. Turning up and hoping for the best doesn't sound too bad (especially if it's just on a Saturday as you might well be in a comp already), if you genuinely can't get a game then you CAN just practice! It's not that bad if you haven't had to drive for 30mins just to get there.

I walked a new course today that I'm thinking of joining.... met a couple of guys and asked a few questions about the club and ended up playing the last 4 holes with one guys clubs! (he insisted) :D You can't ask for more than that.
