[SUB][/SUB]For some reason I was wondering on my way home whether on medal days I'm worse across the board or if it is specific holes I mess up. The difference between the whites and yellows is not that significant but where it makes a real difference are holes 1, 6, 7, 12, 15, 16 and 17. So I presumed that this was where it was all going wrong.

So I went on SS2 and looked at my scores for 2011 playing off the whites and yellows. There were six holes with half a shot or more difference in averages but they weren't all the holes that play differently. In fact the hole with thebiggest difference 1.21 is our par 4 4th that is usually about five yards longer off the whites? WTF!!!

Then I looked closer and the pattern emerging is startling. One hole bad, two holes good for the front nine. By this time my card is screwed and though I play both the15th and 17th half a shot worse I also play the 14th half a shot better off the whites!

The second easiest hole on our course by some distance is the 10th. The yellows and whites are on top of each other. Par 4 and my average from the yellows 4.3 from the whites ... 5.1. Then 'oh well bad front nine, poor 10th card is ruined' and cue normal service.

Anyway the point was do any of you play some holes at your course consistently worse with a card in your hand? I've reflected and can safely say that for the 4th, 7th, 10th, 15th and 17th I try to play them more conservatively from the whites. Won't be doing that anymore! :o

Our 4th is an innocuous 320 yard par 4 but I often conjour up a way to make five or even a six. Our 6th is a par 3 of 178 yards and with OB left and right that can be a double or worse. They are easy holes on paper (SI 16 and 14 respectively) but for some reason I can't find a way to make a score on them

Its called nerves, its a one shot deal and we all remember bad shots on particular holes, we should also imprint the good ones but we seem to do so to a lesser extent.

My third always gets me, 211 yd par three, bunkers front and right, ground slopes left to right. Not uncommon for me to card a five or six if it really goes belly up. I've tried all sorts of ways to play it but nothing seems to work! Followed by a par five dog leg left which my best score is a six!! So card can really be over for me at the 5th tee!!! Always used to hate my back nine but have scored so much better recently it's just a shame its all over by then!

I don't have a home course out here, but I do keep a record (on excel) of each round I play on each course. Some give me trouble all the time...but without any shadow of doubt, it is those damn Par 3's between 150 -185 yards that kill me!

it can be a hit or miss for me.i find that if i play the tough holes well i then go on to screw up the easy ones and then beat myself up for it and then get even worse.
