Yes, its a bl00dy nuisance. Great fun taking long exposures of distant galaxies only for a string of sats to put streaks on the photo.

I envy you your dark skies Brian. Over the last couple of years, our local council have seen fit to "upgrade" all our street lighting with LED lights to "reduce light pollution". It's almost bloody daylight out there

I was thinking more along the lines of people with maybe 1 or 2 mbps download speed who have little or no chance of getting fibre or can't get a mobile signal.
I'm sure there are many hamlets/villages who are in that situation.
My question was is there anyone on the forum in that position who may have been following the development of Starlink as I've only just heard about and I'm keen to learn more.

Certainly seems a 'positive' for those REALLY out in the boondocks, though I'm inclined to thnk that shouldn't really apply to many in UK - facilities for 'better' conection should be driven/imposed on suppliers (semi-subsidied by 'profits' from 'easier' targeted consumers like me) imo! And while there really is plenty of 'open space' available, it seems to me that some sort of regulation (at least registration!) needs to be imposed on what is allowed to populate/orbit our planet!
