St. Andrews Links Ticket Waitlist

Got my annual status update. The trust indicated no new tickets would be issued for the 25/26 season. I'm around 1000 on the list. I inquired about adding my wife and it's over 2000 people on the waiting list now.

Is not issuing any new tickets for a season rare?

Yes, it is a rare. Previous years the language was "It has been agreed that 100 yearly tickets will be offered" or "It has been agreed that 75 yearly tickets will be offered."

This year it stated "St Andrews Links has seen unprecedented demand for tee times in recent years and significant increase in golf traffic across all our courses."

It also looked like the local categories changed and I don't see a category for college students. As previously mentioned here they also removed the 3 and 7 day unlimited tickets for visitors.

Do women not get in quicker than men?

No difference for gender. There are different local clubs for males and females and they may have different lengths for their respective waitlists. Also of note the Temporary Competition Tickets reached capacity last year (tickets for local club members to use for club competitions).
