Our pro has the Titleist 910 drivers for sale at £199 at the moment. I went in and asked if this was fitted but they said no as they were trying to shift stock before the 913's come out. She said she could make me some demos up to have a hit from the custom fit stock. They're doing a mega mad weekend sale and I have a suspicion that they might be even cheaper than that from tomorrow morning. I never asked about how cheap they would go as I was too busy working out if I could afford it as it stands.
I've never hit one but have always wanted one if that makes sense. I'm just wondering if custom fitting is all it's cracked up to be. I don't want to spend that kind of money and find that it's unsuitable. My swing is inconsistent at best and I was custom fit for my AP1 irons and came out as everything normal. I am either normal or the guy gave up as I was all over the place. I think I know what I'm going to do but just after a bit of advice. Cheers.

If it was the exact same driver but didn't have the name Titleist written across it would you still want it? If yes buy it, if no save your dosh!

Not sure. Suppose I should have asked. Will ask tomorrow. I suppose I would get a choice as she said she'd make one up and then they'd give me a ready made one that suited if they have any. To be honest although I got custom fitted for my irons I never paid much attention as it was done with paper and the board rather than a flight scope.

Hi Birdieman. I guess you're right. I'm unashamedly a snob. If it didn't have Titleist on it wouldn't touch it with a barge-pole. It is nice though.

You will absolutely benefit from the correct shaft. Get fitted if you can.

It's a great driver, and that's a good, good price.

I bought one from my pro a couple of months ago, I didn't go down the formal custom fitting route, instead I grabbed every demo shaft from the fitting kits plus a few others from mate's drivers and bashed balls on the practice ground. I preferred to see what real balls were doing in real conditions rather than just numbers on a screen.

Bottom line....absolutely delighted with mine, it's a fantastic club.
