October bill in

£53.71 bill
£3.91 paid to me for export

Total usage 726.3 kWh

Cost without the system in place would have been £197.73

Savings with the system in place £147

Total savings to date £4592

Have you broke even yet? If not, how long do yo reckon it will be?

I'm just under 1/3 of the way there . Year one was a "set back" because A the battery didn't arrive for 5 months and B I was locked in at the old cheap prices so the savings were much less

That said years for me start in may (when system was installed) so we are midway through year 3

I expect to break even by the end of year 8 so 5 years to go

i am just about to increase storage by 2 more batteries. I realise that as we go into winter, the battery is run down before we get to the 11:30 refill time

Are you still getting a good roi on it? If you using the extra capacity in winter only, does it warrant the extra spend on it?

If you buy let’s say 200 kWh over the winter at 10p more than night time tariff, that’s £20 you save.

PJ will know what EV to get for vehicle to grid/house. Maybe that trumps any battery extension going forward.
If you are in the house can use it, if you are out the house wouldn’t need it on lower usage.

I think since yesterday we might move officially into the market for a new (to us) car. The Focus passed the MOT, but a few advisories seem to make next year a little expensive. Never had advisories before, but suddenly the car turns 17 and bang.

You can't really do it ATM, the vehicle to grid chargers are ridiculous expensive

My Kia does vehicle to load so could run a plug but couldn't charge my battery

Not overly worth it

House battery's are very cheap now

£2k mudball said wasn't it? That's worth it

For someone who is not in the sticks and does not do any camping/fishing trips.. I don’t really need V2 House or Load really. The most load it charges is like 2-3 phones and an iPad on a long trip.

Current quote for 2 x 2.5KwH batteries is just shy of £1900.

Unfortunately will have to wait as Mrs managed to scrape car on Kerb while avoiding a pothole.. had to write off both tires.. bloody roads
