Hi Guys

Hopefully this isnt a ridiculous question.

I am on my first trip to Portugal soon, 5 days of golf. Now Lately I have been playing Pro V1 / V1x balls and my game has improved greatly around the greens.

I have about 15-18 of these balls, however I want to take 25 odd balls with me as I dont fancy paying for any over there. I have dozens of pick up balls and want to know what model of all these nike, TM, Callaway etc balls are their softer versions, I dont want to buy balls as I expect to lose a few and its not handicap qualifying etc

I am looking for balls that have a bit of feel for them not concerned for distance.

I have a few Srixon Soft Feels, AD333 etc

Just looking for some advice on a decent soft ball that I may have in the bucket that I can take :)

Look out for the following in your bucket then.

Callaway. Hex Black or Chrome, Tour iS
Nike: 20XI, One
Wilson: FG Tour or Tour X
Taylormade: Penta,
Srixon: Z-Star

A walk around the course some evening soon will probably turn up a fair few balls. Plenty of people switch to premium balls now and with the rough up a little there is a good chance you could turn up a few.

Your playing with pro vs an there are helping you a lot round the greens but then talk about using ad333 or soft feel, just buy 2 dozen new pro vs here an your sorted

Golf Depot are doing TM Lethal at £14.99 for a dozen (get AG to price match).
I did, got two dozen and as much as it pains me to say this, it's a cracking ball. Absolutely cracking, it's the old Penta TP back in all it's glory after the (IMO) abysmal TP5 which was like a rock in comparison.
Here's hoping that in true TM fashion of not keeping a brand for more than a year that the Tour Preferred X is just the same ball rebranded.

Moral of the story, get Lethals and you won't regret it.

Lethal is an exceptional ball, prob no benefit to 20 handicappers but cat 1 or thereabouts will def be able to enjoy using this

H'mm! Original Penta TP was my previous fave! Used one (almost the last of my supply) on Saturday and was very happy with them after some time away! The few Lethals I've used have felt a shade 'heavier' off the face. Likewise, wasn't a big fan of the TP5!

That's a great price for a Premium ball, even if last year's model!

amazing

unfortunately it's showing at £19-99 at golfdepot, and being limited to 1 doz per order makes it around £25 inc postage

still a great deal, and without doubt the best ball I've played for a long time (I won a doz when they came out and have picked up 2 since.... :()

if I could have bought 10 boxes at £15 a box I would have broken my commitment never to buy golf balls there and then!

I had a Penta TP in the bag last week and used it and a Lethal side by side and honestly couldn't tell the difference I felt they were that close.
I am now really interested to try the TP X ball and see if it's the same, Golf Depot are (or were as they seem to have changed the prices again) £24.99 for a dozen which is another good price that AG will match

Golf Depot had the 1 per order limit on at £14.99. I took AG up on the price match (which they did) and I ordered 2 dozen with the price match :D - I am a Fifer after all

In which case just bang them on your teeth - compare to pro v and away you go!
Try knocking a pro v then a topflite and you'll feel the difference.
