as per the title. This is the 1st year I haven't bothered even thinking about it.
in the past it has been - get fit, quit the ciggies, less alcohol, work more/less

Now I am just going with the flow as no point trying any of the above as I just end up doing the exact same every year anyway

Happy New Year

Have mentioned this before but about 14-15 years ago I made a New Year Resolution to stop making New Year Resolutions.
So far it's the only 1 I've ever kept.........

Bit of a cop out but who cares..

To stop swearing. A tree on the 10th hole today put paid to that :o

I'll try again tomorrow - heard on the radio that it takes 21 days for something to become a habit so perhaps by the end of January I'll be less of a potty mouth !

In a book I have, it recommends a method to stop a habit that you want to get rid of. I'm going to try it starting next round but I've never known anyone else try it so I'd be interested to hear if it works for others if you want to give it a go?

Each time you swear (or whatever), just make a mark on your card and forget about it. It's very important to not judge yourself for doing it, just make a mark and move on.
Then at the end of the round count up how many marks you've made, again without judging yourself.

The theory is that each time you play you should notice the habit reducing until eventually it stops altogether.

I'll try it and let you know. Sounds feasible and keeping an eye on indiscretion without judging...

I'm going to get fitter try lose a stone an half and also try to get my core muscles working better to hit the ball further
