So what are you listening to at the moment?

I like Genesis a lot. Following the disappointment of And Then There Were Three, Duke has some great stuff at the start and end, with a load of dross in the middle.
But with Abacab they finally lost it. Not a single song on that album I ever want to hear again.
I was still OK with most of ATTWT and most of Duke...then Bank's 80s synths and Collins shouty vocals and echoey drumming...nah..but I'll have another listen to Abacab and maybe also give Invisible Touch a go. Home by the Sea on 'Shapes' is good.

Mike Oldfield - the two I listen to the most are

The Songs of Distant Earth and Light (from the Light and Shade double album).

Never listened to Amarok must find it.

For those that are keen on hearing some of the older stuff played live, I recommend going to see Steve Hackett with Nad Sylvan on vocals. I’ve seen/heard a number of tribute acts down the years, and can say Sylvan is by far the best singer they’ve had.

+1

I've seen Steve Hackett many times, and he always puts on a great show. (Already booked tickets for next October in Torquay).
(To me, Nad looks like an elf from Lord of the Rings. Maybe that's why Hobbit likes him? 😅)

You need to give it time. It's very disjointed and initially sounds a bit of a mess. Themes pop up and go away, only to reappear and be developed later on. It took me about 5 listens then suddenly it was a case of "aha! now I get it".

Had about a 15 minute listen to it and get it (also following some of the reviews).
May get the CD for a better listen than on my computer.

I have always loved reggae and ska music as well as hip-hop and swing music.
Today I was introduced to a new (to me) genre “Reggaeton”

Reggaeton is a genre of Spanish-language popular music that blends dancehall, reggae, hip hop, and Caribbean and Latin American music styles, characterized by the distinctive "dembow" rhythm.
