So has anyone tried out the New SLDR yet?

I think so, but I guess it depends where your hands are at address.

Set at standard.... (Oops, upside down, sorry)

Set one notch (half a degree) down...

Hopefully that shows it. I tried to line the shaft up with the metal strip on the floor.

Cheers for that Gary. I might well have another look at one of these in a similar setting.

Hi,

I have one of the SLDR drivers. I had previously been for a fitting to AG as I felt that my previous driver (Adams F11) spun too much and ballooned into the wind (although was good down wind). I hit the F1 nicley, but couldn't stomach the look or noise off the club.
The young lad suggested that I come back when the SLDR was out as that would reduce spin as required.

I think the sldr came out on a Friday, but I couldn't get that day, so went along on Saturday and tried it. It seemd to do what I wanted, looked good, and sounded much better than the F1 (although I think my old F11 sounded better). So I bought it, and was pleasantly surprised when at the till I was told that it was a good job I didn't buy it yesterday as we have dropped the price by £3 !!

I do like it and feel that it penetrates better into the wind. So far all I have done is increase the loft 0.5 degree, I havn't tinkered with the SLDR as yet.

My usual partner, who plays off 5, but doesn't hit it very far and normally uses a regular shaft (after a fitting with Ping) had a go with my stiff SLDR, and he was amazed how far it went, it was at least 20 yds past his normal driver !!

The next week will really tell if its a love affair or not. I am off to Scotland to play in the Whisky trail comp on speyside. Five good courses over five days for £102 (I think). Lets hope the weather is kind to us!

Cheers

Ian
