So has anyone tried out the New SLDR yet?

So far it seems to suit me. It may not suit everyone :)

Not the nicest noise in the world but a million times better than the last few TM drivers.
Looks good at address (to me).
Feels light without actually being very light if that makes sense? Maybe the balance just suits me and my skinny arms.
Slider thingy works well, as I found out to my cost the first time I used it when I spent a lot of time left of the fairway. Torx screw that secures it strips very easily though :(
Does what it says regarding lowering spin. Into the wind is the biggest difference I've noticed.
Eerrrrrmmmmm..... the headcover is nice?

I thought you had give up "tinkering"?
After that review I think I will give it a miss.

Stopped tinkering with my swing ;)

Besides, this was bought before that decision was made.

It's a strange time for me. Not wanting to change my swing any more and am happy with every club in the bag. Might have to buy a couple of cross-stitch pictures to do.

Have you thought about knitting, weathers about to turn, how about a nice woolly jumper.

So what happened about the screw?

Nothing, I've not taken it back or written to TM about it.

It still works, you just have to be careful - which I wasn't when I first used it.
I'm not anticipating having to move it again.

I'd like to think if I emailed them they would send me another one from what I've heard of TM customer service. Maybe I'll find out one day.

Played with a guy at the weekend that had one, couldn't ask to try it as he is a leftie

Although, the way I was driving the ball it might have improved things if I did try it :D

Seriously though, I'd recommend that anyone looking for a new driver at least give this a few hits, but don't take the numbers as gospel if you're hitting range balls that already spin far less than decent ones.

Is there a TP version? I have seen one in the pro shop and was looking forward to having a hit with one after reading the hype but they looked a little toed in to me.

There is (will be?) a TP version, but I've read that the head will be exactly the same. The difference will be a real Fujikura Speeder TS 6.3 shaft.

I thought it looked a bit closed too, so I just knocked the loft down a notch to open it a little.

Edit - The TP is already out..... http://www.americangolf.co.uk/TaylorMade/TMade-SLDR-TP-Graph-1/255657,en_GB,pd.html

Does it seem to sit square after you notched it open Gary?

I think so, but I guess it depends where your hands are at address.

Set at standard.... (Oops, upside down, sorry)

Set one notch (half a degree) down...

Hopefully that shows it. I tried to line the shaft up with the metal strip on the floor.
