smoking drugs in public

Is it though, vaping is very much in its infancy as against smoking and cannabis. Yes it has fantastic medicinal properties which far outweigh the disadvantages of a persons medical problems. But leisure use. Do we know the long term problems of smoking cannabis for 40 years.
It's a non-story, but you seem to be conflating long term cannabis use with the vaping deaths and I am not sure why. Perhaps I have misunderstood.

These things need to be regulated and the potential risks communicated.

I am very much on the side of thinking that things shouldn't be banned just because of short or long term risks. People should have access to information and understand the risks and then make a choice.

As in stopping people using and taking drugs.

Look at the data from the Netherlands who have a very liberal attitude to cannabis. They are one of the lowest users of marijuana or cannabis in Europe.
Look at the date from Portugal since they decriminalised illicit substances. Reduction in drug related deaths, reduction in HIV diagnosis etc. etc.
In both Holland and Portugal drug use is essentially illegal but tolerated in certain circumstances.
Personally I think it is an excellent model but I would also regard it as a form of prohibition.
I would be very loath to move to a model where drugs can be promoted in a way that is possibly happening to cannabis in the USA or alcohol in this country

A bit like alcohol and smoking I think it is a mixed bag. Some have mental health issues, some have no after effects whatsoever. For people who have issues, what strength were they smoking? As it is largely illegal how many people have been involved in studies? Is it mainly people who have ended up with problems, ignoring those who do not? (I suppose we would need to look to The Netherlands for the answer)

I mentioned vaping because like me as a non smoker, someone else had brought it up as also being antisocial. I then mentioned what is news in the USA. Plus not just that, it is in the early stages of causing deaths in the USA and guess what the ambulance chasing legal teams are already on it. Not sure how anyone who smokes says any aspect of it is ok, be it fags, cannabis or vapes.
But like others have said, I understand why folk smoke, be it social, habit, addiction or medicinal. But why does it have to be in my face.

We need to be more open minded in regards to the use of drugs as medicine in this country. There are a lot of people who could use marijuana as a preventative drug to stop them from having epileptic seizures, or to combat the pain caused by muscular sclerosis or chronic stomach issues like Crohn's disease. Then there are drugs like LSD that studies are showing can be successfully used to assist in treating serious mental health conditions such as PTSD. We seem to have this weird viewpoint of drugs in this country that they're only used by losers, but on the other hand have a completely liberal viewpoint on alcohol, a drug that is freely abused every weekend in every city in the country and no-one bats an eyelid, it's utterly bizarre.

A typical sensationalist article where one individual who was smoking at 16 has got sick from vaping because of a bad reaction. Doesn't really add much to the discussion.
Hmm so a kid nearly dies and it's a non story, 🤔

Over 200 people die every day from smoking. Where are the articles about them?
If there's over 200 people die every day from smoking I would assume you have read those articles. Otherwise where did you get your info from. I think everyone knows how long fags have been a killer and the people who are dying every day did not start smoking last week.
In my initial post re vaping, I said there is a *** storm around the corner. Lo and behold a non news story appears.
If vaping is OK by you fine, it's fine my me. I play with guys who vape, just don't do it in my face.
