Played a round with Neillbro at Gifford this morning and decided to put in a 'Supplementary Card', given that we're missing the April Medal as we're away on the Machrihanish weekend.

Round the front nine in 45 and thought I'd blown my chance as I like, psychologically, to be under level 5's at the turn to give myself a wee bit of a cushion. Anyway, started off the back nine with a birdie 3 at the 10th and was even putting for a birdie 4 on the 18th, but pushed it just past and ended up with 41 blows.

So, 86 (including a 7 and no less than four 6's on the card!!!), nett 66, against a SSS of 69 sees me with a 0.9 cut from 19.7 to 18.8!!!

Reckon I left a few shots out there too................................... :blah:

Cheers Tiger. Hoping that my having played right through the winter will stand me in good stead for the season ahead. Today was my 14th game of the year, so hoping to keep the momentum going. :)

Is it always same stretch of holes you mess up on ie. 1-4. 8-12 or last 4 ?
As for me it's always the last 4 where I tire and mentally know I'm going to have a mare

Sadly not, Mike. I can play three or four great holes in a row and then a loose drive or a thinned iron puts me in trouble. :(

Nothing wrong in doing what your doing and putting the cards in and rewarding to know that even with a few dodgy scores there was enough good stuff for now to get you down a bit. The problem comes when you lose a few more and there aren't the extra shots in hand to play with if you chuck a few 6's and 7's about. Good shooting none the less

I first played with delb about 3 or 4 years back at Muckhart and even back then I was thinking how the he'll is this guy off xx? I actually thought he was one of those bandits who likes to Hoover up prizes for fun, a real bounty hunter.

Anyway the more you get to know del the more you realise he's desperate to improve at all costs. Fingers crossed this is the start of the handicap slide. Well deserved and about time, del should be and could be a consistent 13-14 handicap with potential to get lower.

Cheers Craw - your support is, as always, very much appreciated.

Sounds as though its coming on really well. Pleased for you, nice to hear of reward for the hard work you are putting in. Guess that handicap is about to tumble.
