Off to remote Spain on Friday and will be taking laptop to keep in touch with graft emails so will have access to my Skyplayer.

The question I have is (not being that up on all things techno!) will I be able to watch a bit of the USPGA on it even though I am in Spain??

Bloody well hope so! ;)

Remote Spain - can we take it that you're going to Benidorm?? :D

A tour starting in Madrid passing through Granada amongst other places and ending in Malaga to take in the Feria.

Certainly not taking in the Spanish Blackpool! :D

Dodger mate, shouldn't have a problem so long as the internet connection is good enough.

Assuming you've already set up your Sky Player account (now called SkyGo), you should be able to just login and view as normal.

I have been using SkyGo for the last few weeks on iPad and iPhone. I works fine in the UK using wifi or 3G. It refuses to work in Europe (Holland, Germany, France & Norway). It claims that there is no internet connection when I know that I am connected.

I suspect that it is blocked to non UK IP addresses.

That was my worry as I am sure Sky are funny twats when it comes to boxes abroad so kinda thought it may be complicated.

What you need is a Slingbox. control and watch your own tv (sky) from anywhere.

The box attaches to your sky box, connects to your network at home and you can dial into it from any where. All you need is a laptop and internet connection.

Theres also another gadget now (forget name) that you dont even need the laptop, instead its a blackbox that connects to a TV like in a hotel room.

its cool that you can change channels on your sky box and watch things on planner (recorded) from far flung places like the U.S. cant beat having access to your own tv when you are away.
