SKY coverage aka Golf Channel

Sitting here enjoying the WGC Accenture Matchplay. My enjoyment is regularly ruined by the copious quantities of bloody ad breaks! :angry:

It's good that SKY are broadcasting the golf, obviously the pictures are courtesy of CBS/Golf Channel which, being an American channel, means we have to go to countless ad breaks. I was watching it last night and got totally brassed off with them.
Noticed there were even more when they got down to the last couple of playing groups.
Could just imagine the American director, "OK, they've both teed off and will have to walk down to their next shots, cue ad break!"

Still, suppose it's better than no golf at all.

Go for Stella, and it becomes less of a problem. You can always nip to the loo in the ad breaks, and you do need to once the seal is cracked.

Don't start me on the golf coverage....not only all the damn ad breaks but just the general crap coverage full stop. It's match play, I want to see how both players played the hole not just one of them! And then the ridiculous half an hour stoppage so they can switch from the golf channel to CBS.....aaarrrggghhhh!!!!!

Completely agree! They have no idea how matchplay coverage should work. I've lost interest a few times over last few days because of this

Totally agree. The coverage means you have no idea who is doing what and the caption says to win a hole but you don't know if the other guy is out of the hole, has a putt for a half etc. Even with smaller fields the coverage is still crap. You can tell the US don't do matchplay

Life is too short to worry about stuff I can't control. Yes the coverage has been less than stellar and there are a fair share of adverts but I'm just happy that we get so much golf coverage on Sky.

I'm loving it, 5 days of live golf.
I can handle a few ad breaks, you ever try watching F1 when Itv had it? Now that was annoying.

I record the golf and start watching one hour behind live...ff the adverts and eventually record time catches up with live end time near the end

Yep, I tend to record it and watch it when everyone has cleared off to bed. Leads to some late nights though!
