Skoda Yeti

For information, my 2.0d, 4WD Yeti averaged 45-46mpg over the course of my two years. A 2WD version would get around 50mpg based on talking to other owners. The 4WD system, Haldex, was superb. I'd back up Maxfli's comments about cornering, it ran on rails. It was excellent in poor weather, eased through two horrible snowy winters.

They are quirky cars, shaped different to the norm at the time. Had the boot been bigger I would have got another without question.

Yea they flew in on the small airstrip next to the course and stayed a couple of hours, the photo was taken on our 16th tee.

Just to throw another car in the mix.... have a look at the Suzuki equivalents. I've had a 2013 SX4 1.6 petrol since the beginning of the year and have grown to love it....its an incredibly robust and plucky car, I do wish it had a bit more mid range grunt though.

If you think the Skoda Yeti is ugly, I’ve just seen the new Lamborghini SUV, and the words hideous and fugly apply so much.

My son recently got a new Vitara and seems happy with it , looks ok to me as well.

I personally would really struggle to even consider a car unless I liked the look of it. Don't like the Yeti one bit. I've had a hire car a few years ago, which was a Skoda Rapid and which was nice enough.

I'm not one for spending thousands on a car, but with kids clearly the practical elements become far more important.

We settled on a Kia Sportage a few years ago. Great value and looks not too bad. Ours is an older model, but imo the new one looks very nice. Also even if you get a second hand one it still has a 7 year warranty from Kia.

Never even thought about a warranty if a brought second hand, the 7 year warranty from Kia would seem sensible to go for. (y)

I take it you mean on a second hand Kia you get the, "Balance" of the 7 year warranty?

I drove the Kia Carens today - quite impressed with it. I have to say that Kia have improved their quality year on year.
It's a 7 seater (small rear seats) but they do fold down easily to leave a spacious boot!
Worth a look. (y)

Yes. Buy a Kia and it is under warranty for the 1st 7 years of its life.
