Simulators suck

Some friends have invited me for a Christmas knock in a simulator. I want to go (FOMO) but I've been twice before and, both times, I've really struggled.

I'm a 16 index so I'm not brilliant but I can usually propel the ball in vaguely the right direction, for an acceptable distance. Neither of those things were happening on the sim. When I did connect it was travelling about half the distance that it would in real life, and never where I was aiming. Has anyone else experienced a vast difference between simulator golf and real golf, or is it just me?!
Of course, they won't replace real-world experience, but it's still a pretty interesting alternative when you don't have the opportunity to play on an open field.I have used various simulators myself more than once and, although it is not the same as on the field, I still enjoy the game, even when the result is not quite perfect. For example, I recently read about various online entertainment platforms. There are many interesting slots reviews at https://unionslots.co.uk/free-slots/big-bass-bonanza/ that you can read. But even if you don’t play this, it is always interesting to know new things for fun. Remember that even simulators have their own special atmosphere, which can be a nice alternative. And, of course, it all depends on what exactly you are looking for in a game. The main thing is to find entertainment that brings pleasure!

My club has a tour grade Trackman and find that the distances are relatively accurate, though not sure I hit my 6 iron 210 yards on the regular 🤣.
Have been on others though and feel like it over-eggs the spin and compounds my already terrible slice / hook depending what day of the week it is!

The weather has been appalling. Go for the exercise,

Not sure standing in a sim counts as exercise. Calorie intake (liquid) during the session likely to exceed calories burned!

Ps I recognise I’m replying to a 2 year old post 😬

I have used a sim twice (at the same driving range) and my shots had a massive slice on them - on the course I usually have a draw

I had a driver fitting that used a sim and that was actually very representative of on the course

My take on it (very inexperienced) was that the range sim setup may be out...

Did they set the sim up to show a slice because they were overstocked on draw drivers? :ROFLMAO:

haha! no, sorry, the fitting, the ball went straight (relatively)..

It was the sim at the range that seemed off and had a slice that I never experience normally
