Has anyone had a custom fitting at their new revamped facilities?

If so what is it like and how does it compare in terms of custom fittings out there? e.g. Direct Golf/American Golf?

Thanks

Do Direct Golf / American Golf even offer actual Custom Fittings, or are they more your hit a few clubs and decide what feels the nicest? That's all they are in my experience TBH.

I've heard the Silvermere CF facilities are very good.

The new two deck Silvermere range looks great and I've heard the teaching/fitting bays are excellent too. The problem with AG and DG is your're normally hitting into a net and relying on the monitor. At least with Silvermere you can watch the ball flight too

Looks like they've got a really good set-up at Silvermere. Hoping to head down myself before xmas and get fit for some irons, so would like to hear the thoughts of anyone that's been fit by them. Also, anyone that has been, what's in the "£40 Welcome Pack"?

£40 :smirk:

A friend of mine got fitted for new irons at Silvermere a couple of weeks back and he really couldn't fault the service he received. As pointed out above, at AG and DG you tend to hit into a net whereas at Silvermere you can actually see the ball fly.

The welcome back was a complete waste of time, was the usual thing of a cap, ball market etc etc however wasn't really worth £40.00.

With regard to DG\AG. I've been fitted at AG a few times. Depends on the store on how good a CF you get.

I tend to wait until the tour truck visits my local store if I'm in the market for something and then get CF by him. Can't remember the guys name but he done a top notch job, on par with fittings I've had at the Belfrey in the past. IMHO.

The 'new' AG experience is pretty good. It's a 7-step fitting process, I was one of the lucky ones from the forum to go to London to have one at the new Monument store last week.

The fitter who was there was great. His name was John, and he is actually based at American Golf Northolt on the A40. The big benefit there is it has a brand new driving range, so you can see the ball flight!!

With his 7 step fitting and a real driving range, and it being free... might be worth a look. Depending on how easy it is for you to get to the A40 at Northolt. I'm based in Woking and it takes 35 mins on a Saturday round the M25.

After my Monument fitting, I popped there on the weekend to look at irons. After a few hits with the new Mizzy shaft fitting tool as well as all the results form the virtual bays, he basically told me a slight change in shaft is all I need, and really changing clubs isn't worthwhile unless I want to spend some £500+ for newer technology. Which was most refreshing, considering I had a voucher and some money to spend.

Most people think AG just want your cash... whereas John from AG Northolt wasn't interested in the money, he was interested in my game!
