Regardless of the outcome today - should Monty have the chance to stay as Ryder Cup Captain when it goes to American soil in 2012?

I quite like the way he's organised stuff, not afraid to get as many people in to help, motivational talks/videos etc etc - I like his 'no holds barred' attitude.

Do you think we should have someone else?

Yes, yes, yes to keeping Monty.

I see no reason why we would need to change captain unless Monty doesn't want to carry on. Also I can't think of anyone else with the same passion to do the job as well with the exception of Seve but health reasons he can't do it.

On his chest!! :D

I wouldn't mind at all if Monty stayed on but isn't it policy that they only get one shot now? Because of that I can't see it happening

Where are all the Monty knockers.

Both of them are under his jacket.

No, no, no to another term as captain. We have so many people who are ripe for the opportunity. They are all involved in some capacity at the moment too so it would be a common train of thought but with their own personality thrown in.

Darren Calrke, Tommy Bjorn, Paul McGinley, Jimenez......that's 8 year's worth right there.

For all his faults, Monty lives and breathes the Ryder Cup.

I know people don't like him, but I've never had a problem with him and I would have no problem if he was named RC captain a second time. Infact, he can do it for as long as he likes, I like his approach to things and the team wants to play for him.

I love the fact he's bought on a chuff load of "vice captains" and back room staff (Garcia etc..) to help motivate the team and keep them going.

As good a captain as there has ever been.

COME ON EUROPE!

I am someone who has been nothing but critical of the choice of Monty as captain, but I would like to say from his speach on Thursday right through the whole competition he has been excellent, the way he has handled himself dealt with the media worked his team, I am happy to say I was very very wrong.

No...he's had his go and proved to be a good skipper but there are plenty other people deserving of the honour..and the small matter of the financial spin-offs that go with(paper talk is £2million for Monty??)

Isn't Olazabal pencilled in for 2012 if he can get fit?
Would be happy for Monty to captain again in 2014 at Gleneagles, he would revel in that. After that, as indicated above, lots of other good candidates who deserve a chance.

I'm not in favour of this one shot and your out policy.

Neither that there is a definate list of Captains in waiting. Not all good players will necessarily make good captains. The likes of McGinley / Bjorn may be good vice Captains but would they make a good main main? I don't know? Just posing the question.

I would be more in favour that each Captain gets a home and away competition unless of course something happens and a 2nd term isn't in the interests of either party.

Monty for 2012 and 2014.

No - chop his head off.

Sorry, but I honstly can not stand teh man- he really gets on my tits. Dont know why, never met him. Watched him a few times but I just want to smash his face in.

OK he done a great job, but it was the players who won teh cup not him. So he has done his bit - thank you - now where is the guillotine.
