Was out earlier today in a wednesday medal and was playing nicely until i came to the 5th par 5 and took a 12 although a disaster hole for me when i counted up at the end was pleasantly surprised to be only 9 over par on our wee 9 hole course so shot a 46 on the par 37.:)

Ouchy. Had a 12 in a foursomes event on our par 5 second. Wouldn't have been so bad but it was the second round and we'd been clubhouse leaders after round 1. The rest of the round disintegrated into an exercise in "couldn't be asked"

I'm sure I've shot a few 12s and maybe even more than that but never in a medal round, mainly because I've not played that many medals for fear of doing just that!

This year though I've set myself a target to play as many as I can with the aim of getting a cut in my handicap.

One thing that I am quite proud of is that over a 45 year playing span I have never gone into double figures in a medal round.
To be honest I can't even remember taking a nine.
I don't play competitively now so it is unbroken.
