I have my first ever short game lesson tomorrow and I don't really know what to expect and was hoping some of you who have experience in short game lessons can tell me what it involves and how it differs from irons and woods lessons (beside the obvious distance difference :D)

cheers

Hi! I'll have a go at answering this one since I'm a forum "virgin".

You should have an idea of what specific area you want to work on ie chipping/putting/bunker play etc. Make sure to tell the coach that you wish to focus on this area - from my point of view when I'm teaching I always find it better to focus on one/two areas and be thorough, rather than try and cover all bases and skim over things. You will get more out of the lesson this way.

He/She may give you a skills test to help you identify your development needs and you may come away with a few drills/tests to work on in your own time and some suggestions on different ways to execute the shots which you covered.

Short game lessons are normally overlooked but are a great way to lower your scores.

You will enjoy tomorrow - as long as the weather is good. :-)

Have fun and I hope this helps.
