Shops that sell your favourite food?Name the special ones..

I'm a weirdo who doesn't really like ice cream. I can take it but I'd also happily leave it!

When I was a kid there was a sweet shop in Caversham that had glass jars of sweets floor to ceiling on all sides. The shopkeeper used to have to get on a big ladder to reach the jars on the top shelves. If we were lucky his wife would go up the ladder and we would get a glimpse of stocking.:o

It'll need to go some to beat the Cornerstone in Mallaig! Straight from the boat into the kitchen and onto your plate! I feel a road trip coming on during the October week with a tent and the weans. Rothesay for sirloin, and steak pie then off the North end and drive to Arisaig and have a fish'n'chips fest in Mallaig.

I am pretty sure I have had those over the years, spent 5 or 6 childhood summers in a row touring the west coast of scotland.

Been going to a takeaway in Nottingham (Tipoo on Alfreton Road) for their double cheeseburger meal for about 15 years. It's always stayed in the same family and to be honest the consistency shows. Meal has doubled in price in that time but it's still bloody good value.

Other favourite is Amigo's in the city centre. Jacket potato with garlic butter, doner meat, cheese and chili sauce. Sounds so wrong yet is so right.

Looking at my suggestions it;s no wonder I had a heart attack at 25.

i only eat proper food from the north non of yer fancy muck, elder, sweet meats, pigs feet, tripe n onions pigs head, dripping butties all good chuck and all fresh from slaughter house.

The Gorgie Road Fish bar and the Barbecue Fish shop on the Glasgow Road in Corstorphine,Edinburgh and any confectioner selling Tablet. That's all I need to make me a happy chappy.

When I am travelling home (Co. Antrim) I always leave space in the suitcase for some Belfast Baps, and an Ormo Plain Loaf.

Get pretty much everything here that you can get at home, but I miss the bread the most.

My sister lives in Tyrone, so the odd time I get a loaf of Nutty Krust - best toast ever - no argument.

Over here, The Fish Bar in Pinner does the best fish and chips I ever had. Anyone in NW london, head there on an evening you cannot miss it. Its the Chippy with the big queue along the street
