A lot of shops in my area have signs saying they're open on April 12th but look anything but ready.

I know of a major chain who have buyers seriously struggling to buy across their standard range of stock.
Some tradespeople eg, builders, plumbers, floorers I know are saying if you can get it, buy it now as soon you will not have much of a choice.
OOI my Mrs looked back on some of her recent internet purchases and many were now OOS.

Lady next door works in the big John Lewis over the Bridge. She's been in filling shelves and prepping. She didn't see a problem there.


Maybe we have the usual journalistic licence in operation again

John Lewis stores have been closed and will be holding stock pre pandemic.
The company I was referring to have been really busy over the pandemic and are struggling to buy new stock.
