Do yourself a favour and goto a proper fitter.

Avoid AG, Direct Golf and all that shite. At least you will know your news clubs are right for your swing.

Where should I try then? I was just going to go to AG and get in their net hitting some balls and see what they say. Not really sure of what is near me to be honest.

I think you need to find a range or a club with a practice ground and hit balls so you can see the distance and flight. I'd never use AG (personal choice) and wouldn't trust their simulators as being accurate. Try the Thomson Local and look at driving ranges and see if any of them have a decent stock of clubs

My only gripe with doing that is that chances are places like that are going to be more expensive, aren't they?

Not necessarily. I use a range (muni course) for my lessons and they have the latest gear in and usually have a demo club in most models. They'll try and price match but don't have any issue with you trying them out anyway

Just need to find somewhere nearby then really. One of my local AG's is on a range which might help a bit

Like I say I wouldn't use AG as I've had real issues with their fitting service and product knowledge but that isn't to say they are all bad. Worse case scenario, hit some demo clubs and ask about price matching and see what they come up with. Just because I've had issues, if they can give you what they want go for it
