Evening all....
I was out this morning...One of the lucky ones....
Usual club off the 1st tee...On the green in 2 and strolled off down the fairway head held high shoulders back and smelling the fresh air....
A good chance at par for 3 points and at worst 2 for a bogie...
Got to the green and settled myself...Went for my putter...Oh NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

No putter....I came out of the house without it.
Cue my 4 Iron and a 6 for a DB and a point....

OK ill plug on...Said to myself when when i reach our 9th ill head for the Pro shop and borrow a putter....I came out fighting for the 2nd half with an MD Seve Icon St Andrews edition half mallet......

Long story short i was a putting god for the remainder of the round and ended up 80 euros less well off with a new baby for my bag but with a smile on me like a cheshire cat :D :D :D

Anyone ever forget there putter :(

Kid2,
I once forgot all my golf clubs!!!!! I just normally got my mum to give me a lift to golf. Opened the boot when i realised my clubs were in my dad's car!!!!!! So had to explain the situation to the pro and i borrowed his. How embaressing. :o

Happened to me many years back, was playing a junior scratch open, dad was playing Royal St Georges same day. Talked to him about how quick the greens at St Georges were and how unsuitable his putter was.

Got to the open the following morning, 15 mins before due off to notice my Bullseye was missing (been deemed needed at St Georges).

Ended up borrowing a cut down Ram Zebra off one of the assistant pros and 36 holes later I bought it (and gave my dad the bill when he got home that evening!)

4 putts, with a 4 iron. Should have used a rescue, might have got down in 3. :D :D

No, never happened to me. I think it's called "hitting a few putts" before wandering over to the tee.

Not that I'm unsympathetic.... :o

Good choice matey, I would have suggested using the back of the dw for putting the front nine though, surprisingly easer than a 4 iron etc.

Never left any of my clubs, thankfully !! But my friends has once left both of his drivers at his house when talking to me about them when he left the house to go to the gc !!!!!!!!! :P what a muppet

:D What format/rules were you playing to get those points?

Wouldn't that be stableford and receiving a shot on that hole, or am I missing something here?

Apologies if that is the case, but from the OP I thought these were nett scores.

Stableford Clive! It was the little people inside my head telling me that my worst with the 4 Irons should have been a 5.....How wrong i was
3 points for par (4)
2 points for Bogie (5)
1 points for DB (6)

:(

I left a putter at home once and borrowed one from the shop that looked just like the ones you get at the pitch,n,putt on Blackpool beach.

Can't have been too bad coz I shot in the nett 60's to win the Medal.

Kid 2 in "grass is greener" shocker! :p :p

Did you take the i15's out again?

Evening Region ;)

No i brought my S2's but i did bring the Ping i15 7 iron to replace my own and have a few whacks of it....
Im still impressed by them...The flight is way higher than my S2's but this is probably just a shaft issue.....

Sorry if I'm missing the point, but Stableford points are one for bogie, two for par, three for birdie etc. :D
