A swashbuckling performance from the big man to win the WGC. Some great shots out from (and over) the trees. Some big pressure putts sunk when guys like Bubba were up there.
So pleased for the guy. From breaking his putter at the Irish, then a top 10 at Chambers...it's been a hell of a season.
Liked him since reading his story around winning the Irish as an amateur, but his recent on course blog with Sheils & Finch proved what a down to earth fella he is.
I love that there is a big party at his home club tonight in Offaly...but not for him, as it's for his wee brother who just won a big tourney too!

Just watched the highlights, really pleased for him. What i liked is his celebration, you could see how much it meant to him.

Great win for him and I was impressed with his final round.

A bigger surprise was how much Justin and Jim faltered both completely lost their games when it really mattered.

Rode his luck BIG time but made the putts when it mattered so fair play to him. Someone needs to have a word in his shell about his taste in clothes though, he always looks as though he got dressed in a tumble drier. I prefer a smart looking golfer!

I know he wore all black at Chambers Bay in honour of the two Irish students who died in the Berkeley balcony collapse. He may have done similar yesterday in honour of European Tour caddy Brian McPheat who passed away on Friday.

I think dropping a few pounds may help him in the heat of the PGA now that he has a 3 year exemption in the bag.

If his appearance was a tad shabby, his short game was certainly not.

Putted brilliantly and scrambled really well. It was quite interesting to hear his discussion with the caddy before his approach on 18th and it was nice to hear him be so honest about it that he had pulled it and he was the recipient of a big dose of luck. Cracking photos of him giving the tree a big hug!

If anyone's interested there's a good interview with him available as a podcast on the Off The Ball Show on Newstalk Radio Station.
