Probably a silly question, but can you max out a shaft with how you swing ?

Only asking as I get a lot of height due to my swing, so at the moment there is not a lot of difference between my 7,6,5 irons in distance.

I recently borrowed a set with heavier shafts and all of a sudden the trajectory and the distance between the 7,6,5 was a lot better.

I used the same crappy swing with all the irons. On switching back to my irons there was no real distance between the 7,6,5 irons again.

Could be weight, more likely flex, or maybe a different kickpoint or a combo of the 2 or 3, sounds like a fitting could help you.
