My son got fitted for a VRS driver a couple of weeks ago and the best shaft option by far was the Diamana Ahina shaft. My question is, would this shaft be the best for him in his fairway wood and hybrid or would i need to get refitted again ?

thanks

Often, a 10gm heavier version of the same shaft will suit a player in the Fairway, though there can be some distinct aberrations. Hybrid use and shafts tend to be distinctly different anyway, so normally no correlation to Driver.

A fitting would obviously be best. What sort of fitting was the Driver one? By shop? By specialist fitter? You should be able to negotiate a reduction/free session for the Woods/Hybrid if you paid. You are certainly forking out a load of cash!

Is the Driver working btw?

He went to a fitting centre that had the Nike 360 system, tried all the different makes of driver (not just nike) and the VRS came out the best. Still waiting for the driver to be delivered which was ordered nearly 2 weeks ago so cant say how its working.

His current hybrid is a regular shaft so that needs changing first then his fairway wood is also too weak.

thats the problem with having a 15 year old boy that has grown about 6-7 inches in the last 6 months and got alot stronger. have just bought him another set of irons as well off NWJocko on here !!

Another reason to have replaceable shafts! There'll quite possibly be another round of this exercise to look forward to in a year or so (or maybe only a few months!).

Obviously, it's the busiest time of year for OEMs, but I don't think I'd be particularly happy with that amount of lead time. That should be another of the advantages of the 'replaceable' systems. In any case, I'd wait to see how the driver performed before investing more!
