Seve

The term "Legend" is banded about too easy these days but he is definately a true legend.

Very sad news.

Very sad news and im feeling it like a family member,i hope he pulls through or it happens quickly and hes not in pain, sad day.

I think this is tugging at a lot of people, many young golfers like me think of seve like an uncle or a much older brother.

Very sad news. One of the true sporting greats. A unique talent and an inspiration to so many.

I agree that to golfers everywhere, he is like family.

Hope he can pull through.

No it hasn't been confirmed, the idiot on this page, chrisgunning started the story on twattter.

And justin rose has not confirmed anything, he is just sad that Seve's condition has worsened.

IDIOT STARTS SAD NEWS

Best to just wait until it is officially announced rather than jumping on the back of comments.

I hate when the internet causes surges like this, its hard enough for the family at a time like this.

I will most certaily shed a tear when he passes away. The man is my golfing idol along with Tom Watson. A legend of the highest order.

The guy is a legend and this is a very sad way for him to bow out. I was fortunate enough to see him play an exhibition match and attend a group lesson with him when I was a junior. It's something I will never forget. He is such a nice guy and so passionate about golf.

Justin Rose has stepped back as said he was asked a question by a seemingly misinformed reporter.
Less of the speculating until any news is released, good or unfortunate.
Lets just wish the best for him.

The great man had a quote that I always liked and remembered.......... I look into their eyes, shake their hand, pat their back, and wish them luck, but I am thinking... 'I am going to bury you.'

Sums him up perfectly. :)

Sorry guys just thought that a PGA pro wouldn't have tweeted this without knowing some news:

"Just stepped off the course to hear about the death of Seve. One of my idols. What dignity and courage he showed thru what must be the hardest of times. That's when the true character of a man comes out. I saw how strong my dad was in his last days and I have no doubt Seve was the same. Sad day for golf."

Nothing on SKY Sports or BBC or his website...... :o

All the best Seve!!!

If you look in the dictionary for a definition of the word 'legend' it'll state one word and one word only: SEVE.

I have all the Ryder Cups on video and DVD from 1985 onwards. The ones I most enjoy watching are when Seve was in his pomp with a young Olazabal - just an awesome competitor.

I love that quote as well.

Tragically sad news indeed. As has been said before, I just hope he's not in pain. One of golf and life's true legends.
