Seve Deserves His Lifetime Acheivement Award!

Maybe you missed the Seve years?

I guess I did :D

I'm not saying he doesn't deserve his award as an ambassador to the game and overall great player but just don't see that he is any better example at living his life than Tiger. Currently Tiger remains married, Seve's differences led to a divorce... which is the point of the post. No one could doubt his ability or contribution to the game.

Getting divorced is a fairly routine thing these days. I did not hear any suggestion of infidelity in Seve's marriage, and it is not a ubiquitous factor in divorce. He was married to one of the family who own Santander Bank, and I think the family always thought he was a bit of a peasant.

Having a posse of slappers all around the US, paying some of them for "transgressions", lying to your family, having a prescription drug habit and all the rest is something very different.

Seve - the greatest European golfer ever! Yes Faldo has won more majors and Ryder Cup points, but for what Seve did for the game in Europe, the impact he had on reigniting the Ryder Cup as a contest, and his total victories worldwide, for me makes him Europes No 1. I would say easily in the top 10 to have ever have played the game.

Here's hoping that 2010 brings Seve his greatest ever victory.
