I am turning 30 next year and am thinking about a new set of irons maybe.

Does anyone know if you can customise the sets (not a custom fit) more select the irons you actually want.. for example I prob wont want a 4-SW set I will prob want a 6-SW set with 2 hybrids to fill the gaps

can you even buy individual irons from places like american golf?

Would probably work out a lot more expensive buying individual irons.
A lot of sets seem to go from sw-5i.

Many brands can be bought by the iron these days, even from places like Snainton Golf.
They give you options for different sets - 4-pw, 5-pw 5-gw etc etc

Most places these days will sort a set for you. The days of it having to be exactly 3-SW or 4-SW are long gone fortunately

excellent to hear, I still need clearance from the boss.... so prob wont happen lol

Man up, and get a proper set. Nothing quite like hitting a 3 iron. It's a purity thing. A flushed 3 iron is a rare beast, but on the odd occasion, wow, flipping heck. Boom! We don't play for a living, so add a bit of fun, a bit of what the heck, a bit of musketeer, he who dares Rodney. Hybrids. Yeah, right. It's not how many, it's how.
