Serious question with regard to my handicap

Jon,
try myonlinecaddie.com . A free service that i use , if only to cross check your handicap . I don't know how this compares to others, as it's the only one i've used and never felt the need to look elsewhere

M-W-J do you not have an official h'cap?

If not, I say play off 27 then post your next 3 cards on here (the good, bad and ugly - no cop-outs) and we'll give you a dozen opinions. Take the average of the dozen and bob will be your uncle......

I seem to remember a few good scores floating around on the forum, maybe you should just go with your instinct (be honest). If you think you could really manage an 18 on a good day, maybe put yourself off 23. 15, off 20 etc.

I can't speak for higher h'caps but I feel that 7 or 8 over is possible (on a tidy and inspired round) for me on 12, so that's 5 below my real h'cap.

Jon, what ever you play off at the belfry, the smart money would still be on me. The forum meet king. Crowborough, Ascot, (ok, missed out at Leatherhead, but still beat HTL and Leftie, the main protagonists). Ignoring England v Scotland, as I have always been a poor team player, count me in only when personal glory is on the line.

Belfry, bring it on.

Oh, and you might have been cut by then, whilst I am on an escalator, Going up!

I've heard that your handicap should reflect the average of the best 7 of your last 10 rounds.

If thats too complicated I'd suggest saying scratch just to see their expression

Murph , did you not win at the Cobtree meet last summer too ?

I'll be corrected if I'm wrong but surely a handicap doesn't lapse if you move clubs. They may require you to requalify your handicap but until then what you have is what you got.

Bear in mind that off 27 with 52 points in a comp you would probably have got cut 16*0.4=6.4 shots giving a new handicap of 20.6, so 21 would seem fair.
