80 years old. 17 hcp. Play 45 holes a week.
Currently using Callaway Maverick 12 degree. Most drives 150-175 straight.
Any advantage to switching to a 9 or 10 degree driver ?
Thanks.

Do you know what your swing speed is? It would be impossible for us to say whether a lower loft would go further or less far. If your swing speed is on the slow side, the extra loft is most likely helping you get more carry.

I would argue that if you were to lower the loft you may lose efficiency based on the slower swing speed not getting the ball as aerial as the 12 degree head.

Shaft and head can help. Your best bet is to go for a fitting with a pro and see what they come back with.

12 degree works for me as my Angle of attack is down.
I just can’t hit a lower loft and I actually lose distance because of my launch angle.

At 80 your doing well there at 175 yds
If you want a new driver just go get one fitted ,you only live once.😉
Not sure you will find one much better than you have.

It’s great to see the seniors still trying for more out of the game.👍

What are your eyes telling you?
Is that a high flight, so maybe 165 and 10 roll? Or a lower running flight?

In these baked conditions something lower may help, but revert when damp.

A 14 degree might suit. Or something very light (clubhead & shaft)
