Season done and dusted.

Well thats it for me,

The last individual comp of the season has come to a close. Thought I was onto one final cut before the winter trawl. Was +2 through 16 holes only to blob the last 2 holes in the driving rain and wind. c'est la vie.

I started the season off 8.2 and finally finished the year off @ 5.9, although happy I am little disappointed I couldn't reach my revised target of 5.

How has the year treated everyone?

I would presume alot of courses are still doing qualifiers well into winter (awaits smug links golfers )

Our season finished last weekend, we have no qualifiers through the winter. It wouldn't have made any difference to me even if there were qualifiers - we've got a baby coming any day now, so I doubt I'll hit many golf balls between now and March.

As for the season, I got down to 7.8 from 11.9 and lowered my PB four times in all, with the best being a +2 gross 71, so pretty pleased all in all. Aim for next season is to do that more often. If I can match your h/c drop next year, I'll be a happy man.

I am done for the season too, foreign business trips (none yet scheduled) apart.

Will resume sometime around Augusta.

Bearwood Lakes remains open and playable all year but I just don't like cold weather and soggy ground.

Well, I only started playing golf seriously late in the season around June time and haven't played in many competitions, but have come down from scores of between 110-115 to a handicap of 24/25. It could be worse I suppose.

Having broken 100, I seem to have hit a wall for the time being however. Will have to work on my short game over the winter and hopefully enjoy a few healthy cuts next season!

Vomited on the floor last night at 11.30pm. Vomited down the loo at 7am this morning.

Teed off in Stableford final at 8.07am. 23 points.

Season over. Hangover now gone.

A so-so day. :)

Glad i wasn't the only one, Vomited in the toilet an hour before tee off, left 15 mins later. Hadn't eaten a single thing and still beat handicap. Should do that more often!

I think my place has a few qualifiers, but I am not sure whether I will bother. I think I need the osteopath to look at my back, as I cannot sit up right for long periods, get a pain at the base of my back. I was talking to a mate about doing hot yoga, to build up flexibility and core strength. I was also going to just settle into some practice around my posture as well and keep it all ticking over to have a comfortable season next summer.

Seems like a crying shame Ethan. Your course is about as good as it gets for members course.

The reason for our lack of qualifiers during the winter is due to dropping to 14 holes and using fairway mats. I love winter golf, it's more social than summer. We have a winter fiddle, £20 in and winner takes all ( 20 odd blokes so a decent chunk to be won) it's over your best 6 rounds while we are on fairway mats. Dominos after the round Sunday and a quiz every other week.Bring on the banter!

Pah: edit stupid iphone

It came and went for me rather quickly, plenty of games all over the place and comps and a cracking start which got me within .1 of my single figure target ... v frustrating alas I managed one board win and then a rubbish mid season of about 2 months and finished last week with 38 points... thought Id done it but only a measley .2 cut and still .5 away!!! I was gutted but we plough on into the bleak winter with monthly stablefords and weather permitting regular qualifiers I've got 2 months left to hit my target.....
