Well thats it for me,

The last individual comp of the season has come to a close. Thought I was onto one final cut before the winter trawl. Was +2 through 16 holes only to blob the last 2 holes in the driving rain and wind. c'est la vie.

I started the season off 8.2 and finally finished the year off @ 5.9, although happy I am little disappointed I couldn't reach my revised target of 5.

How has the year treated everyone?

I would presume alot of courses are still doing qualifiers well into winter (awaits smug links golfers )

Congrats mate. Your chipping away handsomely at that handicap. And at single figures that's impressive.
I can't wait for the day that I can get into single figures (currently 15.9) my long term goal is 9 :D

Our place has announced 7 or 8 qualifiers to be held over the Winter for the first time.
So, assuming the course is up to it, we're playing for handicap through to the new season in April...

Well played Lump. That's a decent cut for the season.

I've had a fantastic season, played a bucket load of new courses, met a load of new friends... and had a good cut too.

Smug links player alert!!:ears: 6 qualifiers this month and next. 4 Dec and Jan, then back up to at least 6 a month.

No Turkey Medals at your place then ?

We have 6 left - October Midweek/sat/sun medals and then Turkey Midweek/sat/sun medals

Got a fair number of teams comps left as well.

Been a decent year. Hopefully this Sunday will be the crowning glory if we win the Beds Mid Handicap League

Done and dusted for me a few weeks back.

After a poor start I'm very pleased with how the season worked out. In the last club qualifier of the year I achieved my long held ambition of getting to single figures. :)
Played a few B-Team matches, won 6 lost 2 so pretty happy with that.
I've had a few good results and have a nice balance on my Pro-Shop account to be spent by March, lots of time to consider what I need over the dark evenings.

Started playing the winter league now, 4BBB matchplay, played two lost two. :(
As usual we seem to inspire our opponents to play well, although today we were rubbish into the bargain.

The biggest downside to the year is that I haven't got to many GM meets in 2013.
In fact, excluding "mini-meet" fourballs I've only played the one at Tadmarton Heath.

We have comps all year. Usually a monthly stableford plus Christmas and new year events dependant on the weather of course. We're done on all the big events this year and its been a mixed bag. Scores indicate a rubbish performance and the handicap went from 10.1 to 11.3 (to date) and I rarely challenged at anytime. However the ball striking is light and day better than this time last year and I am slowly showing signs of a short game emerging from a long hibernation. Lots to be pleased about and with some solid winter work I firmly believe I can hit 2014 out of the blocks quickly and still think single figures is achievable. Having seen what my regular partner Hawkeye has achieved and the magnificent season he's had getting to 7 it has motivated me even more

Sadly, it's now pretty well done. There are a few monthly comps and perhaps a few veteran events to enter. I'd like to get single figures if I can this year but won't play in qualifiers if the weather is contrary to the chance of scoring.

I've had a great time since I went to Gleneagles in early June and beating a PGA pro there on the Kings Course was brilliant. A cut from 12 to 10 a few weeks ago was the culmination of hard work in the mid summer. In the last few weeks, this brilliant forum and GM threw up a good round at Chart Hills, Woburn, the Ping ProAm and Help for Heroes at a West Hill, which saw me hit the ball as well as I've ever done, in one of the best run meets anyone could play in.

Let's hope its a dry, mild winter and I can come out all guns blazing in the early spring.

Very lucky that I get to play qualifiers all year round. This year hasn't gone to plan so still time to get the handicap down before the end of the year! Played some fantastic courses and not played the way I have wanted to on any of them!

Vomited on the floor last night at 11.30pm. Vomited down the loo at 7am this morning.

Teed off in Stableford final at 8.07am. 23 points.

Season over. Hangover now gone.

A so-so day. :)

Oftened wondered why our club doesn't carry on with the medals into oct/nov (apart from the obvious weather reason) - which would surely be factored into results and sss. Its really frustrating waiting 6 months for another medal

A bit of a let down h/c wise, played well over winter and was consistently playing to or under h/c only for my short game to disappear 2 weeks before the season started, then soon as I sorted that something else went drastically wrong. Still some positives though as when I'm playing well it's the best I've ever played, just hope I can piece it all together for next season.

Its been an amazing year for me. Started the year at 24.9 Handicap and currently stand at 15.3. I managed to get my name on the board and narrowly missed out on getting my name on another, I also won our Thursday society summer league.

I doubt I will ever have another golfing year like this one. 9.4 is now the target!

We are staying on Tee's and Greens for the full winter, our head of Greens is adamant that the course is up to it and after the work he has done the past 8 months very few of us are arguing with him.

I am over the moon with the end of my year. Started going up at the beginning of the season and was back of 19. Started to improve and played well in a few medals eventually finishing second in the handicap category in the annual comp taken from the aggregate scores of all honour board medals. Got my handicap down to 16.4 and was chuffed until I went up .1 a few days later. Was looking to get down to 16 by the end of October so was ecstatic to have a blinder at the weekend and get cut to 15.3. Still have one or two comps left to push for 14

Well done 25 to 15. Great work.

Qualifiers all year so our season ends on 31st December. still hoping to get a shot or two off the H/C and next Sunday is the first round of a team comp over the winter. Looking forward to some winter golf on soft greens.
