I have been on the quest for a new set of wedges for a while as I have fallen out of love with my vokeys. Not even realising that my picture was the logo of a reputable brand of wedges (which a forumer thankfully told me) I thought I would check them out.

I ordered a set of Scratch 8620 D/D from a guy on ebay. 50, 56, 60. For £150 all in. I cannot wait to have ago with them.

Does anyone have any experience with these wedges?

Looking forward to them!

Ethen uses them, maybe PM him for the low down or do a search on the forum as there have been posts in the past.

Your Pic is the Scratch logo and your name is Scratch.... and you did not have a set until now??? Very strange!!!

Also why did you buy them from Ebay when they are not that expensive to buy direct and are quickly UPS`d from the US.

I currently use Scor wedges, http://www.scorgolf.com but have used Scratch in the past. Good range of styles and choices available, and they are pretty responsive to cutover requests. Scratch get golfers to try to identify their playing style, i.e whether you slide, dig the club etc, as this helps choose the best grind http://www.scratchgolf.com

My current Scor wedges were ordered from the US and arrived in less than 48 hours. Ordering anything from the US will incur customs charges of 205 of the total value including shipping costs, so that needs to be factored into the price.

Ops, my bad, got mixed up with the two manufactures... :o

I've used Scratch wedges in the past.

Didn't really get on with the one I bought of a mate, but that was mainly because it was a different style to the other wedges I was using - and a lot lower swing-weight. Tried another when someone on another forum was passing one around to try out and really liked it - but was committed to the Miuras I had at the time.

Great wedges if they are the right style for you!

I've heard that ordering direct can be a bit troublesome, perhaps not so much for standard wedges, but irons and custom orders. As a small company, they often get snowed under with orders and there seems to have been some logistics problems. All that's hearsay and could well no longer be the case. The main source of negative comments seems to be someone who failed to get a big enough cut from marketing them on their site (actually, i believe that's happened twice) so could all be just dirty anti-marketing!

Scratch are not particularly well known in the UK, but they have a great following in the US. Quality wedges and irons all round, coupled with the ability for custom orders on grinds and set ups. D/D grind is "driver digger" and would suit a player of that swing style - i.e. a steep swing and a big divot. Lots of bounce and squared off leading edge to account for this - great if it suits your swing style and ground conditions, not so great if the opposite.

The wedges just turned up. They look AWESOME. shorter head than vokey wedges I am currently playing. Going to the practice area at the course after work. Will upload a full comparison to my current vokeys. But first impressions are they look really nice and confident at address that they will do the job!

Sorry guys, I have been on the course! Tan lines look lovely.

These wedges are AWESOME. Put a smile on my face seeing some zip again. Much smaller than most standard wedges. They feel great and inspire confidence as soon as you address the ball. The DD are very bounce heavy so worth bearing in mind but works great for my swing. Noticeably heavier than my old vokeys (which i will be selling when i have reached 100 posts!) But this heaviness really helped with my timing. For full shots they are the best i have played. For smaller shots the 50 is great but the 60 has taken some getting used to. (As someone on my academy course found out when I knifed a flop shot)

Very good looking clubs with a lot to offer.

Any questions let me know!

Just one question (said Columbo).

Your forum name is Scratch.

You have a Scratch Wedge logo as your avatar.

You've bought Scratch wedges.

Are all three a coincidence or do you have any affiliation with the company?

You missed the other connection....He used to play off scratch - and hopes to get back down there!

@SRL That knifed 60* is a shot many of us have in the bag! Occasionally alternated with the one from deep-ish rough that goes underneath the ball, which goes nowhere! The knife would certainly be likely for me with that setup - I'm an S/S wedge player! Reduced bounce, camber, leading edge for me!
