Went up to the range for a quick warm up before the weekends rounds this evening, and found myself browsing around the shop afterwords as you do. I always like to tinker with different equipment and this time it was the putter. I came across the Scotty Cameron Detour putter. I have seen it before but always felt it looked a little awkward. This time i tried it on the putting mat. Felt really balanced and nicely weighted, and the curved line at the back of the club really made you concentrate on your swing.

Now I haven't ever seen anyone using these and wondered why? Anyone here got one or have any opinions on this?

Because they are funny looking however if you like them you can get them for a good price'For a scotty that is'

have you ever tried the newport detour with the small alignment aid

Have seen the newport detour but never tried it. I just find it interesting how some clubs really drop in value because people don't like them. The technology behind them is innovative and makes sense, and they are still a 'scotty'.

Maybe should get one just to be different!! :)

Its a cool looking club i have only tried it in proshops though

Thought the orange details looked cool although the grip was on the thin side

I have a winn on my scotty

My best mate has one - I putt with it so well. The feel is amazing as is the balance which is just a pendulum. Looks pretty cool with the orange. I actually like the grip's thinness as well. Overall a great club

i tried over 20 putters in two shops today (nevada bobs and golfino-expensive) and guess which one i liked the most. the most expensive a scotty studio something lol £200. will try and find some at a cheaper price tag
