Evening all

I have been looking and drooling on the scotty website at some of the custom work you can have done, sadly i cannot afford to have my newport pimped out but i do want to buy a custom grip. Has anybody on here brought just a custom grip direct from scotty? if so how do you go about it? or do you know any where that is selling these grips at a reasonable price?

I cannot understand the obsession with Scotty Cmerons.

The Retail ones are vastly more expensive than equally well produced putters.

And the individual/Circle T ones go for completely silly prices!

Tried a couple and found the only ones I really got on with were actually made by Bettinardi - rumour is that Bettinardi also made the one that made Scotty's name (Langer's Masters winning one)

Taste is not universally similar some like some don't, the putters are well made and, for me, succesful.
Miura make expensive irons that do the same job as mizuno, titleist, cobra et al for double the cost, doesn't stop some folk wanting them.
Scotty is a master marketeer who has created a brand that is up there as one of the most recognisable in golf and based Solely around putters and other merchandise, he made it exclusive through pricing and limited access/stock. This, in turn has given the brand a certain mystique not unlike mizuno and titleist. I, personally say well done that man.

Agreed!

And I also admire TM for their Marketing!

It's the 'consumers' that confuse me!

If the putter suits someone, who's to tell them how to spend their cash?
I like his putters and there is something about having a matching grip, not least they look nice. Good thing is they don't plummet in value.

The custom shop grips are usually only available if you send a putter in to get it restored or customised. Some come up on ebay for sale or you can get them from classified on The Cameron Collector, a US based website for Cameron fans.

@foxholer - Bob Bettinardi worked for Cameron in the 90s before going out on his own.

I realised when cleaning my putter last week that some paint had come out of some of the lettering.

Now only the letters P and the G of PING have white paint in them :(
