Looking at going up to Scotland next summer camping (tent with electric preferably) anyone know of any coastal sites that are children friendly with (if possible) a pool on site, clubhouse with or without kids entertainment on an evening - again not essential. Just come back from Cornwall and loved it but now want to see what Scotland has to offer as we haven't been since pre kids.

Any recommendations?

This is quite a busy place with loads for the kids and good entertainment.
You are only a couple of miles from Ayr and 40 mins from Glasgow.
Nice beaches at Croy and Turnberry, The Burns Centre in Ayr [Rabbie not A&E] and the Carrick Hills on your doorstep.

A couple of miles down the road is Culzean Castle an NT establishment which has a more sedate camp if you want quiet.
Beautiful spot and one of Scotland's major tourist attractions.

There is another Haven at Seton Sands just East of Edinburgh.
Hope this helps.

I don't know about camping sites, but there are loads of caravan sites up there.

Inverness is great, we stayed for a week on Loch ness and a week on the coast near Nairn, and it was brilliant.

Just happened to look at a place in/near Nairn last night Pete - looks a great place. Will look further into that option too.

If you're heading well north Grannys Heilan Hame at Embo run by Parkdean is very popular.

Stones throw from Royal Dornoch GC too!;)
