Scotland and Sports

What is the point of this thread. We are all in the UK or has that changed since I went to bed??????? I will support any UK team against the rest of the world.

....with the exception of Andy Murray who is a major stroker with that "anyone but England" jibe.

So it was ok for the reporter to joke 'who are you going to support since Scotland haven't qualified.. AGAIN.' But that bit wasn't reported so you'll think it was all serious and not him joking back.

I sincerely hope Andy was not joking.

ABE all the way.

Well now, what game are you going to utrn to a national sport? Tiddlywinks? You can't play football, that's been know for years now, and now rugby has been trashed by Argentina.

LMFAO!!!! :D :D :D

Well you never know, it might not be so funny if Scotland beat you this weekend, unlikely but stranger things have happened. That game has some meaning now. You didn't exactly thump Argentina yourselves!

Regarding the football quip, South Africa 2010 wasn't so long ago - your lot were close to abyssmal. How many years of hurt is it now?

Thing is,we know what we are,and we don't pretend to be anything else. When we do well,we enjoy ourselves, and when we fail,we still enjoy ourselves. :D
Theres also the small matter of population, when you consider the population of Greater London is larger than the population of Scotland, then obviously, the pool of talent will be smaller.
At least we don't keep pretending we're the greatest Football team on earth, yet come up short everytime.
Go on then, tell me that story AGAIN,about how you won the world cup 45 years ago. :D

Yes 45 years and still they think they have a god given right to win it again every time its on.

I tell you what though, if Scotland had hosted the World Cup in the late 60s or early 70s we would have went close to winning it as well. 5 or 6 games at Hampden in a row back then and it would have taken a very good side to have beaten us.

Wow that is a statement, are you still in the pub? :D
